Designing your own compact house or freestanding sauna might sound expensive, not to mention complicated. Dimensions, layout, materials and construction all affect one another, which can make it difficult to turn an idea into a building that works in practice.
That is why we have developed a digital process that gives you plenty of freedom while keeping the design within the parameters needed for manufacturing. It brings together intelligent technology, skilled craftsmanship and Swedish, PEFC-certified timber.
How it works
From idea to finished building kit.

You shape the building
Choose the type of timber building and starting shape, then customise the dimensions, windows, doors and other details directly in the configurator.

Your design becomes production data
When you place your order, all your choices and measurements are sent to our factory in Småland, Sweden.

We optimise and manufacture
Computer-controlled machinery and our algorithms calculate and optimise every length to minimise waste. Each part is then sawn, milled and drilled to your design with millimetre precision.

We pack and deliver
Once every part is ready, we pack the kit together with the windows, doors and other equipment you selected, then transport it to you.

You assemble it – we are still here
The kit comes with clear step-by-step instructions to guide you through the build. If you have questions or need guidance, we remain available during the process.

After more than ten years in the building industry, we've learnt what a successful project really needs: the right materials, considered solutions and guidance that makes the process easier.
We've also seen how unnecessarily difficult it often is to turn an idea into a building that works in practice. Dimensions, layout, materials, construction and site all affect one another, yet they are often treated as separate decisions. The person building is left to work out how everything fits together. This insight led us to rethink how a timber building could be designed and developed. By combining our technical knowledge with hands-on experience, we developed a straightforward approach that helps you see the whole picture, work through the details and make the right decisions in the right order. From the first sketch to a timber building shaped around your needs and priorities.
The result was Formbo: a straightforward way to create cabins, saunas and sheds around the site, the needs and the people who will use them. All our buildings are made in Sweden using PEFC-certified timber and delivered within 10–15 working days.
